2 Hours in Singapore — Airport & Jewel Food Trail

Transport: Walk · Vibe: Authentic flavours, zero commute · Pace: Relaxed

Two hours is just enough time to experience Singapore's world-class airport food scene. This itinerary skips the city commute and focuses on the high-quality local gems found right inside Jewel Changi and Terminal 1. Marvel at one of the Largest indoor waterfall and enjoy the one stop shopping paradise right within Changi.

The Airport Advantage

Time needed: 0 minutes commute

Since you are staying within the Changi/Jewel airport, you don't need a Grab or MRT. However, Jewel is the crown jewel (outside immigration). If you are in transit, you will need to clear immigration to enter Jewel, which typically takes 10-20 minutes with the automated gates.

If you have more time and money, you can swap out to restaurants such as Jumbo seafood for their famous chilli crab or soup restaurant for their ginger chicken.

Stop 1 — Jewel Food Republic

Arrive: ~20 min after landing · Duration: 45 minutes

Located in the basement 2 of Jewel, this curated space features some of the city's most famous hawker brands. It’s the highest density of Michelin-recommended local food in the airport. Try the Roasted Meats or Fish Ball Noodles.

Other local snacks must try includes tutukueh and satay.

📸 Photo moment: The vibrant, retro-themed stall signage makes for a great "street food" vibe shot.

Stop 2 — Traditional Breakfast at Ya Kun

Arrive: ~1h 10min after landing · Duration: 30 minutes

Ya Kun is a Singaporean institution since 1944. Their charcoal-grilled Kaya Toast (coconut jam and butter) and soft-boiled eggs are the definitive Singaporean breakfast. It's the perfect light meal before your next flight.

📸 Photo moment: The "egg dip" — capturing the moment the crispy toast hits the golden yolk.

Getting Back to Your Gate

Jewel is connected to T1, T2, and T3 via link bridges. Allow 15 minutes to clear security and reach your gate if your flight departs from another terminal.
